FIELD DAY ....

Hey Christie Cub Families-

Field Day is QUICKLY approaching and we are in need of volunteers.  Below is a link to sign up if you would like to volunteer.  You can sign up to help in the morning, afternoon, or BOTH.  Whatever time you sign up for, we'll need you at that station, not walking around with your child's class.  In the morning, we'll have some 5th graders helping at many of the stations, so we will need the most help in the afternoon but still welcome volunteers for the morning time.  On the sign up link, you'll see that we also need volunteers to help with the Snow Cone machine and Dunk Tank!  All volunteers will be provided with pizza, chips and salsa, fruit, water, and tea.  Volunteers lunch will be from 11-12.  Thank you and please make sure you check in at the front office.  You will be assigned a station and directed where to go.  You'll also receive a description of your station to help you better understand the activity.  See below for the sign up link....

HealthyZone May Newsletter ...

Christie Cub Families-
As we close out the 2018-2019 school year, our focus within the Healthy Zone Program has been to "Create a Culture of Health."  In the link below, you'll find information related to diabetes and exercise, comparisons of high-fructose corn syrup versus other added sugars, and information related to FitnessGram Reports.  Please take a look at these articles as they contain excellent information.  For parents who have students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th, students will be bringing home their personalized FitnessGram Report in their report card the last day of school.  These reports focus on activities and skills that students worked on throughout PE and Fitness that ultimately lead to a healthier lifestyle.  In Fitness, students were provided with a demo report to analyze.  This is helpful for when they receive their personalized report, they can interpret the data and possibly make changes to better their own health.  As always, the PE/Fitness coaches would like to wish every cub and their family a safe and happy summer.  May you find activities and meals that provides for a healthier life style for all.  Enjoy your summer!  See you in August!!!
